NAVIGA Section S Dear sailors. As of now, I do not have any proposals for holding a World Championship in 2025 in section S.
I know the situation is difficult. The situation in Ukrainia influences even radio sailing, which means that refugees are all over Europe and it is difficult to obtain cheap acomodation. Additionally inflation has taken over, companies are not eager to sponsor such an event.
As you may be aware, NAVIGA has assigned some budget to each section. I am totally willing to assign all of this budget to championships in order to help organizers. I know that organizing championships is not a cheap task, if you can make it break even, you have already done a good job as the starting fees alone will be barely enough to cover all expenses. Lets not forget that such championships will run for almost 2 weeks in which you have to take care of all the people involved in the organization. This will be €3000.0 which may make a big difference in financing such championships.
So if your national organisation is willing to host a world championship in 2025, please contact me with a proposal. The championships in 2021, 2023 have already be canceled and it would be sad if we need to cancel them in 2025 also.
