Dear members, due to recent conversation in regard to organizing official Naviga events it has come to our attention there is a serious lapsus in the General Competition Rules in regard to insurance matters. Since there is always the possibilty of accidents happening, it seems only logic that those who organize the event should be protected for the possible costs caused by such incidents. In other words be insured towards these matters. Every National Federeation or association, member of Naviga should already have an insurance that covers their countries’ members anyway. Due to different laws and requirments in our member countries it is impossible to have 1 “umbrella” insurance that would cover each and every other country so the only other option would then be that for the duration of any official Naviga event, the necessary steps are made to obtain extra insurance covering for the duration of that event and all it ‘s participants, regardless of Nationality. So far this was only stipulated in the M section Rulebook, but in view of the risk it seems only logical to us that this should be the case for all Sections and therefor be admitted to the General Competion Rules as point 2.1.2 (6) in the GCR 2025 so here it is:
At World and Continental Championships the Organizers must have a Civil Liability Insurance covering the cost of any Championship related accidents. This insurance must cover personal and 3rd party competition related injuries, obviously this insurance does not concern the models, only people . The Section leader of the respective Section is to make sure this requirment is met, there cannot be approval for a WC or CC if proof of insurance is not provided. The end responsibilty for any incident always remains at the Organiser of the event not Naviga, but the Section Leader is to make sure all precautions towards personal safety are according to the class Rules before the start of the competition.
Yours sincerely:
The Naviga Presidium
